Nov 26, 43 Edmonton, Alberta. Now I can't get it to run right. It will run as long as I have the throttle open some, but will not idle. Seems like a problem with the throttle safety switch, so I was wondering if any of you Polaris wizards on the site know if the switch can be bypassed to test it out?
Jan 3, 7 Sounds to easy, I will give it a try. Thanks for the tip rp7x, I didn't know that the sled would run with the kill switch unplugged. So I unplugged the switch and started it up, now it would run without holding the throttle open, but was idleing at about rpm's.
I turned the idle down toplugged the switch back in and it's all good!!! I have no idea why it was idleing so fast, but you saved me a trip to the dealer.

Nov 27, 13 18 B. Rocky mountains.Adjust the handlebar upward or downward to the desired angle. Be sure the handlebar, brake lever and throttle lever operate smoothly and do not hit the gas tank, windshield or any other part of the machine when turned fully to the left or right.
If necessary, loosen the set screws for the left and right controls, rotate the controls slightly and then tighten the set screws to the proper torque. Do not stretch wires while adjusting the controls. Stretching the wires could damage the handwarmers. Loosen the four bolts on the bottom of the adjuster block 2.
If necessary, pry the blocks apart with a screwdriver. When this occurs, the left hand control may not clamp tightly to the handlebar. If the left hand control was inadvertently moved without loosening the screws and is loose, loosen the mounting screws and move the control block slightly to the left or right to relocate the pins. Torque the screws to specification.
Loosen the brake master cylinder A mounting screws and move it away from the left hand control B. Tighten the screws to specification in the sequence shown in the image above. Do not over-torque. Torque to either 24 in-lbs 2. Return the master cylinder to its specified position. Make sure the clamp will not pinch the brake light signal wire. Refer to the following illustrations and measurements to position handlebar components at factory-specified locations.
Loosen the two mounting screws. Torque the front screw 1 first and then torque the screw 2 next to the reservoir. Throttle Block Alignment Take care to avoid damaging hand warmer wires when moving components.

I need some specific instructions of what to disconnect or unplug to try and troubleshoot my problem. The sled, many many times this weekend, would not run over 4, RPM. You can disassemble the throttle block and cut the wires, there is also a spot to unplug the wires behind the steering loop cover. I have had it happen from the the throttle cable just slightly pulling out of the throttle block, its kind of a pain to get all the way in. To me the throttle safety switch being hooked up is more dangerous than disconnecting it.Registration is fast and you can even login with social network accounts to sync your profiles and content.
Hey Quad crazy! Back again. I recently picked up a Polaris Phoenix that was sitting around in someone's yard exposed to the elements. I'm sure it's going to need a carb rebuild and the usual suspects from sitting around but this is a cool looking bike and would like to hear any feed back good or bad. Also any links to buy parts for this bike would help as it needs a new headlight assembly and some small cosmetic items.

Plug is black cleaned it same thing. I rebuilt the carb but wondering if it's deeper inside. Or is it a timing issue?? Any help would be appreciated. I feel like it's happening when it gets hot. But what exactly is heating up causing it? I'm going to change carb either way. Going to start with that. If it continues after that I guess I will go through alll the motions to see what is getting hot.
Is there a device that can monitor the spark while the bike is running to see if my spark is dropping out? Also when an engine runs out of fuel I've never heard backfiring like that. Normally the engine starves runs rough and eventually shuts down. And lastly I'm thinking that the ignition system is breaking down after the bike heats up.
Maybe a stator problem? Ignition coil? If the plug is completely blackened it's obviously not a fuel delivery issue correct? Too rich yes but def not starving yes? Maybe over delivery?
